Methodist Home for Children cares for more than 1,000 children and
families each year, regardless of their ability to pay. We rely
on the generous financial support of individuals, churches, businesses,
foundations, the government, and civic groups to sustain our programs
and ensure our services now and for future generations.
Your civic organization, business, or religious group can designate
MHC as a charity of choice; we would greatly appreciate your gifts
of time, resources, and financial contributions.
These community partners have made Methodist Home for Children their
charity of choice:
FOX 50 WRAZ-TV in Durham sponsors Connect
a Child, along with The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and Wendys
International. This segment on the Wednesday 10:00 p.m.
news profiles children who need adoptive families.
Wendys
restaurants in central and eastern North Carolina sell trick or treat gift booklets in October and contribute the proceeds to MHC’s foster and adoption services. In 2005, the effort raised $37,700. The
Dave Thomas Foundation provides a matching grant for
a portion of these proceeds. Wendys also teams up with FOX
50 to promote MHCs Connect a Child adoption awareness project
on Wendys tray liners during October.
Progress
Energy
has made MHC a company partner in its Triangle workplace giving
campaign, enabling employees to designate MHC as a charity, and
contributing fifty cents for every dollar designated during the
campaign.
Food Lion invites you to use
your MVP card to donate a portion of your purchases to Methodist
Home for Children. See your local store for details. The
Food Lion Foundation recently granted MHC $10,000 to
help offset some of our group homes food costs.
Sunny 93.9 FM in Raleigh organizes
Wrapping Hopes and Dreams, an annual gift-giving and wrapping
party that makes Christmas very special for all the kids in our
care.
North Carolina Theatre has given
many of our kids the opportunity to see live theatre by donating
tickets to various performances. Bravo!
